Terms of Service

A Terms of Service for a mobile app needs to cover different ground than a privacy policy. Let me draft it in the same plain English tone as the privacy policy:

Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Coachly, a mobile application developed by Journey Together International Ltd (“we”, “us”, or “our”), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 14566144, with our registered office at Faversham House, Wirral International Business Park, Old Hall Road, Wirral CH62 3NX, UK.

By downloading or using Coachly, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. What is Coachly?

Coachly is a practice management tool designed for professional life and business coaches. It helps you log coaching sessions, track training hours, monitor credential progress, and export coaching logs. Coachly is intended for professional use by qualified or trainee coaches.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Coachly. By using the app, you confirm that you are 18 or older and that the information you provide is accurate.

3. Your Account and Data

Coachly does not require you to create an account. All data you enter is stored locally on your device. You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your device and the data stored on it. If you choose to enable iCloud sync, your data will be stored in your personal iCloud account, governed by Apple’s terms and conditions.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Coachly only for its intended purpose — managing your professional coaching practice. You must not:

  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose
  • Enter false, misleading, or fraudulent information
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or tamper with the app
  • Use the app in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its functionality

5. Client Data and Confidentiality

As a professional coach, you are responsible for ensuring that any client information you enter into Coachly is handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws and your professional obligations, including the ICF Code of Ethics. Journey Together International Ltd has no access to the client data you store in the app and accepts no responsibility for how you manage that data.

6. Intellectual Property

Coachly and all associated content, design, trademarks, and software are the property of Journey Together International Ltd. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the app without our prior written consent.

7. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

Coachly may offer optional paid features or subscriptions. All purchases are processed by Apple via the App Store and are subject to Apple’s terms and conditions. Subscription pricing and terms will be clearly displayed before purchase. You can manage and cancel subscriptions at any time via your Apple ID settings. We do not offer refunds outside of Apple’s standard refund policy.

8. Free Tier Limitations

The free version of Coachly allows you to manage up to 2 clients. To manage additional clients, a paid subscription is required. We reserve the right to modify the features included in the free and paid tiers at any time, with reasonable notice provided within the app.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Coachly is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular purpose. We are not responsible for any loss of data resulting from device failure, software errors, or accidental deletion.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Journey Together International Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Coachly. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app or subscription in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Changes to the App or Terms

We may update Coachly or these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes within the app. Continued use of Coachly after changes are made constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or discontinue Coachly at any time. You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it from your device.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
